We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old electricity substation on the site of London"s oldest meat market. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Very attentive and informative staff, perfectly cooked and brilliantly seasoned meat, cooked to our preferences. Generous sides packed full of flavour. Creative and delicious cocktails. We treated ourselves to the cheesecake and the grandma style serving lived up to its name. Amazingly good value overall and a delightful experience. Replicates the feeling of a decent New York steakhouse, no stuffiness, just a passion for food and looking after people.

We were greeted at the front and our coats were taken by a friendly staff. We got sat immediately due to our reservation, our server brought us waters and help us with understanding the menu. We got the All In Sunday Roast which was absolutely amazing. The meat was tender, the vegetables full of flavor and the gravy was the icing on the cake and we finished dinner with the white chocolate cheesecake and the bread and butter pudding with ice cream. The overall experience was amazing and would recommend to anyone look to enjoy an English Sunday roast.

Everything was incredible from start to finish for our anniversary, amazing service (sorry we didn’t get the hosts name but she was so friendly and attentive!) and food and ambience was 10/10, we will definitely be back - new favourite restaurant!
