Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Our menu is a mixture of familiar Pittsburgh foods (think pierogies, hamburgers, French fries) and French bistro classics (beef tartare, raclette, mussels), and seasonal classics that come and go throughout the year. We have been here several times before and have never been disappointed. We cannot resist the fried tofu. We also love the shrimp tempura but we skipped it this time as we wanted to also get a “large plate” entree. My wife enjoyed her teriyaki salmon. My tuna was great. We shared the salad and the pretzel dessert. I am disappointed that the miso Halibut is no longer on the menu…. We will be back though! Thank you Alec - our server.

I have heard great things about Morcilla so my wife and I made reservations for our anniversary dinner. We were not disappointed in the food, drinks, atmosphere or service. All were top notch. It was a great experience and we'd go back again to try more items from the menu. Morcilla is a great option for a date night, or just having dinner with a few friends.

Excellent ambience and service on a post-holiday, low-key weeknight. Always think to have the duck when I visit French restaurants and the duck leg confit met my high expectations! Nice wine list and cocktails as well.
