Located in the heart of the old railroad and mining town of Minturn, the Saloon’s building dates back to 1901. During the last one hundred years it has been, at one time or another, home to various taverns, restaurants and even back room gambling for railroaders. While the last five decades have seen the development of Vail and Beaver Creek resorts just seven miles on either side of Minturn, the town’s appearance and feel retains its historic Colorado roots. Recently under new ownership, The Saloon has undergone a complete renovation and reopened in November of '23 with a fresh new menu and updated space. Chef Anthony Mazza's menu features slow-cooked short rib and pork cheek and Colorado River Ranch wagyu steak. The nostalgia and historical memorabilia and photos remain. The space still feels like The Saloon, but carried into the present day. Enjoy a resurrected Colorado Saloon and feel the history all around you.

    I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this restaurant! From start to finish, everything was perfection. The food was incredibly delicious—each dish bursting with flavor and made with such care. Every bite felt like a treat, and the variety on the menu ensured there was something for everyone. The service was exceptional, with a special shout-out to Dunja, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I truly loved eating here and can't wait to return.     This was an amazing place to have dinner while visiting Vail. The atmosphere was incredible - so many amazing presentations of food and drinks. They are SO family friendly..we came with two toddlers and still had an enjoyable time - the staff was so accommodating. Highly recommend for any families visiting Vail! We’ll be back.

    Can't say enough about how great of a time we had at The Saloon! The food was fantastic, the margaritas are every bit as good as I heard they were and the service was excellent. Plus, it has such a cool vibe. The hostess, Mary, truly made our night with all of her tips for visiting the area. We will definitely be back!

    Excellent Bavarian menu with some more innovative pasta and fish options. Restaurant is cozy with a modern Alpine flair. We dined near the end of the season, but there was no lag in service nor attention. The salmon pasta was light and summery and the schnitzel cooked to perfection, served with classic lingonberry jam.
