Best Casual Restaurants in Winston-Salem

My husband and I dined at Betty on Burke for the first time on Valentine’s Day in the afternoon. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! There were sound cushions on the ceiling helping with the noise level. My husband absolutely hates when a restaurant is so loud that you cannot even hear the conversation at your own table which was not the case at Betty on Burke. This is a small but intimate restaurant with a trendy vibe. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to return in the near future!

Fantastic experience. We sat on the patio which was a little bit cool but the heaters were a great compromise and this is the only reason the ambience didn’t get a full 5 Stars like everything else did. Mel the server was excellent and deserves 6 Stars. She is a true professional and it shows in the attentive nature of her service without being annoying. Not sure which was better- the obvious premium quality of the meat or Mel’s service, but both were excellent. Can’t wait to revisit this little Gem soon.

My friend and I had a wonderful dinner here last night. We ordered the pork belly and salmon skewers as a starter and then had the Mussels, Wedge Salad and Mac and Cheese which were all delicious. We had great service with Chris who was very attentive and professional. He introduced us to the sommelier for wine assistance as well. We really appreciated having a knowledgeable “wine guy” on staff. He even answered questions beyond the menu. He was enthusiastic, friendly and made a good recommendation based on our taste preference. (Sorry we do not remember his name or I would give him a shout out!) The small things from a service perspective were noticed. We had leftovers which Chris took away and boxed up for us. This is a great touch beyond handing your guest a box and having them do it themselves. He also took away my friend’s mussel shells mid-meal so she could continue with a nice clean bowl. We will be back again! Thanks for a great dinner and for having a wonderful staff who greatly added to our experience!

We went for an early Valentine's. Excellent service and food. We particularly enjoyed our wine cocktails and entrees. The short ribs with mashed potatoes & roasted root veggies were amazing. The steak was the most tender New York strip I've had and was peppercorn cream sauce was delicious. The pecan bread pudding was a beautiful and tasty conclusion to our meal.

Very good selection of classic Italian dishes. The food was delicious and the drinks were excellent.
