- LLeslieSan Francisco Bay Area •4 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThe service and atmosphere are impeccable, although it is loud on a busy Saturday night. The roomy, plush seating is reminiscent of a high-end 1950’s Vegas steakhouse, and so nice in a time where so many other places have you practically sitting next to strangers. We ordered the Smashing Dan Dan dumplings for an appetizer. They were delicious, but tiny. We were hoping that wasn’t a sign of things to come, since we came hungry. It absolutely was not! My son had the Wagyu ribeye with chimichurri sauce, which was not only huge, but divine. It was expensive, of course, but he said it was the best meal he ever had! Husband ordered the whole Maine lobster mac and cheese, which was absolutely delicious; rich and creamy, and filled with sweet lobster. I had the duck two ways. The breast was so good; perfectly cooked and plentiful, and the eggplant and baby bok choy accompaniments were very nice. The crispy duck leg was a little dry and over-cooked, however. It was my husband’s birthday and he splurged on a couple tableside-prepared old-fashioneds. The presentation, by the bar manager, was as fabulous as the drink itself. We capped the night with the tableside presented bananas foster. Just delightful. The rum cakes made it the best bananas foster I’ve had. Our server couldn’t have been better. He was attentive, knowledgeable and very professional. We felt pampered throughout the night! All in all, we really loved it and will definitely be back.More infoFahrenheitPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Downtown Cleveland•4.4
- DDanCleveland / Akron / Canton •7 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThis was our first visit to Betts. My wife and I stopped in for dinner on a Friday before catching a show at the Playhouse. We had 4:30 reservations, though being that early, there was ample seating available, as they were just starting to get busy. Portions were good, and prices were more than reasonable for the area, quality, and service offered. Our servers, Quinton and Damian, (I hope I got their names correct as they certainly deserve recognition) were absolutely amazing. Incredibly friendly, efficient, and beyond helpful. The staff really sets the feel for a place, and the crew at Betts really made for a wonderful evening. We felt so comfortable and relaxed, not once feeling rushed or forgotten. Whoever hired the staff found some excellent talent for sure. The drinks were on-point, being well crafted, with the perfect balance of a strong pour while maintaining smooth, well-balanced flavors. I opted for the bourbon mule after a recommendation from our server, and it was an excellent choice. So good. We shared the hot and spicy shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were huge, with the perfect amount of smokey, spicy kick, tender and absolutely delicious, with buttery garlic bread as the perfect accompaniment. For our main course, my wife ordered the tuna poke bowl (her go-to anywhere...), while was feeling a simple handheld so opted for the chef's hot chicken sammie. Both were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. I also liked the option of choosing a small wedge salad for my side as opposed to the usual fries or chips. It was very good as well, and I liked the lighter option. We felt full before we could finish our meals, so we never made it to dessert, unfortunately, but we will visiting again soon, I'm sure. (I need to have that lobster roll...) Great restaurant, nothing but positive takeaways, highly recommend.More infoBetts - ClevelandPrice: Moderate• American• Downtown Cleveland•4.7
- AAnthonyCleveland / Akron / Canton •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoCannot say enough about this place. My girlfriend and I went there for her birthday. This was the day the Cavs played the Thunder so it wasn’t as busy around 7pm so we got a beautiful booth for just the 2 of us. Our server was Michael and he was awesome. As someone who works in fine dining I’m aware some people like when their servers are robot like but he was professional while also being human. Laughing and cracking jokes when appropriate but not staying too long at the table. The bread plus the dip they start you out with is amazing bread was always fresh and hot and dip was oil, seasonings, breadcrumbs, and cheese I believe but it could’ve been my whole meal. I started out with the RED house salad and the raspberry vinaigrette was addicting I’ve been thinking about it since I left. I also started with “Bravery in a Glass” one of their cocktails and it was spot on delicious while my girlfriend started with their Moscato that either of us could’ve drank like apple juice. Finally for dinner we both got the 8 oz filet. I’ve never tried Chiles and Garlic as a topping for a steak but after trying it here I feel I can never eat a steak again without it. My girlfriend also got Mac and Cheese with her entrée that was the perfect balance of cheesy, creamy, and a nice char on top. At the end of the day I was expecting to spend a minimum of $300-$350 but my bill came out to $194. Since it was such a pleasant surprise I made sure to give our server a nice bonus for his amazing service. Finally we got complimentary donut holes with 3 different dipping sauces as a birthday gift for her that once again were fresh, hot, and delicious. I cannot recommend this place enough. After my last few experiences I expect my girlfriend and I to become regulars there. 100/100More infoRed, the Steakhouse ClevelandPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Downtown Cleveland•4.6
