- HHenryOxford/Oxfordshire •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoAbsolutely fantastic Valentine's evening meal. Warm welcome followed by exceptional service from all staff throughout the meal, our waiter was incredibly polite and just the right amount of attentive. The food at the Plough was next to none, we visited before for a Sunday roast and I've never had a better roast beef. This visit was no exception, beautifully cooked meat and fish dishes served with fresh seasonal veg and perfectly balanced sauces. The crab cocktail starter was a particular showstopper, and the banana parfait was unique yet delicious. I noticed lots of awards above the cosy fireplace by our table, I was surprised not to see a Michelin! An absolute gem in a rural location, well worth the drive or a taxi home. We will be back again.More infoThe Plough at HanneyPrice: Moderate• British• Wantage•4.8

- JJulietOxford/Oxfordshire •2 reviews4.0Dined on Feb 2, 2025It is always a pleasure to revisit The Old Swan, a pub with so much history. We sat in one of the front rooms, pleasant but now rather shabby. Our Sunday roast was good though a bit overcooked for medium rare. Treacle tart delicious. Service slow but all told a good outing.More infoOld SwanPrice: Expensive• British• Witney•3.4
- AAnonBedfordshire •25 reviews5.0Dined on Jun 21, 2024The food was amazing; we all had different dishes (mains and desserts) and were very impressed with the taste, quality of ingredients and the presentation. We got complimentary bread and butter at the start, which was a nice touch. The venue has character and is a charming old building. Our server was brilliant, especially considering her very young age - she was friendly, polite and knowledgeable about the menu. The village of Buckland is beautiful - we went for a walk after lunch. I would highly recommend making a visit here.More infoThe Lamb at BucklandPrice: Expensive• British• Buckland Marsh•4.4
