Best Casual Restaurants in Middleborough

The food and service are always fantastic here. The restaurant has a nice homey atmosphere especially with a fire going in the fall and winter. Nice specials and seasonal cocktails too. Would highly recommend this place.

This was our first time to Union Straw and we will certainly be back! The service was great! Our waitress knew the menu well and helped give good recommendations. The food came out quickly and had nice presentation. The food was fantastic! I had the beef stroganoff and the flavor was just perfect. The fresh pasta makes and mushrooms give the dish good texture. My husband had the chicken and waffles, and as a southerner he has discerning palette when it comes to this dish. He said it was incredible and some of the best he’s ever had. Truly high praise. Our friends had been to the restaurant that was in this location before and didn’t have a good experience. They were so glad to know it’s a different restaurant since January 2024. So don’t be confused as they booth had union in the title, but you should absolutely come eat here. We will absolutely be back!

Atmosphere was filled with laughter and people enjoying themselves. The food arrived quickly, was cooked as ordered and was delicious. The staff was friendly and readily available. The prices were a little high but for the atmosphere, food and service, it was compatible to similar establishments.

We took our grandchildren out for dinner. They ate from the children’s menu. One had the 2 cheeseburger sliders and fry’s. Other chicken tenders and fry’s. Both kids loved the meals. Hubby had baked haddock, delicious! I had fish and chips also yummy. Out server John C was excellent. Smiles, attentive, eye contact. Made for an all around great meal with our grandkids!! Highly recommend.

Went on a Friday night after visiting my daughter at college. Made a reservation to be on the safe side. We got the spicy pulled chicken quesadillas w guac and sour cream and the fish tacos which were both excellent with just the right amount of spice. Our server Leah, a Bridgewater State student, was sweet and attentive. Took care of everything we asked for quickly and with a smile. Overall a fun experience! We will be back!
