Chaplin's Restaurant & Bar is a 1930's style Japanese Ramen House and cocktail bar. Chaplin's Executive Chef and Partner, Myo Htun, is originally from Burma, but was cooking ramen in Japan at a young age. Myo received a blessing from his mentor in Japan after nearly 30 years of cooking in Japan, to come to America and continue to showcase his authentic Ramen and traditional Japanese cuisine. Chaplin's Restaurant demonstrates the aesthetic of a bustling ramen house in Japan in the 1930's silent film era. There is also a large outdoor dining area that is dog friendly. Chaplin's is located in the heart of the Historic Shaw neighborhood. And it is open until last call 7 days a week. Chaplin's received a Plate certification in the Michelin Guide in 2020.     First time diners…very impressive restaurant! Food was very good and the staff were very attentive and the waiter was great always checking in with us! We were there for Valentines Day and were very happy and treated like we were the only ones there…no rush. Happy with our experience and will definitely make reservations again there! A+

    One of the best restaurants in DC. Great food, perfect portions, good wine list, and great pacing of the meal. The calamari is fresh and flavorful. We split a Caesar Salad, and it came out on two separate plates, which was nice. I got the Chicken Parmesan, and my wife got a Seafood pasta dish. We both loved our entrees. We ended with an Oreo Cheesecake that was also delicious! The server didn't make eye contact with me at all, only my wife which was weird. Other than that it was an amazing experience!

    We couldn’t have been more impressed with the service and the great food. Everyone in our party of four had something different and each meal was delicious and came with more than ample servings. The service was top notch across the board from our charming waitress to the busboys delivering and clearing our plates. Without question all of us will come back and spread the word amongst our local friends that The Farnhouse is a must for lunch or dinner.
