The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s.     Great Italian style restaurant serving up an upscale dining experience. Free valet parking is available but they are clear that a tip is expected. The menu is great and the food is tasty and the portions are reasonable. Having just moved into the area, my husband and I drove by this restaurant and knew right away we needed to try this sexy place out for our anniversary dinner. this place will not disappoint even the most discerning of palates. We were blown away with every item we ordered from complex cocktails to scrumptious desserts, everything was delectably outstanding. What really took our culinary adventure to the next level was don the waiter , the very talented in-house sommelier, who guided us through the perfect pairing of wine for each course we ordered. Just wow! The service was as incredible as the food. We cannot wait to embark on our next gastronomic escapade!

    We celebrated Valentine's Day at Washington House Restaurant. The food and atmosphere were perfect for the occasion. Hearts were decorated everywhere, and a rose was at each table. There was a special Valentine's Day menu. Hubby ordered his favorite fish and chips and loved it. I ordered the chicken and farro salad which I enjoyed very much! We ordered the valentine's day dessert - a tiramisu inspired red velvet cake! Beautiful and delicious!

    This has been the second time we enjoyed tea service in the Great room. It was superb from start to finish. The service is impeccable, the selection of mini sandwiches and desserts were not only delicious but beautifully presented. The maple pecan scone was the best I have ever had. I have had afternoon tea at top rated places around the world including in NYC and this compared to some of the best I have tried. Well- done all around. Highly recommend it for any celebration or even for a casual relaxing time with family and friends !
