Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's. We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times.     An outstanding addition to Ancoats. The moment we walked in we knew we would love it. We felt very welcomed when we arrived and the staff were friendly and attentive. From the menu to the design of the restaurant you can tell that it’s been well thought out and it shows. We chose five plates to share between us, each one beautiful but I think the octopus was the star of the show for me. The quality of the food is excellent. Love the subtle nod to the Italian history in Ancoats too. We can’t wait for our next visit, thank you Bruco!

    We were well looked after, with excellent service. The food was good, and nicely presented; we couldn’t really fault it, apart from perhaps a bit too much salt in everything, but it lacked the wow factor that would have made it special. We dined on two consecutive nights and were a bit disappointed that the ‘daily menu’ was exactly the same both nights.
