Before the James Beard Award and the Gourmet Magazine review, Lotus of Siam was a small little hole in the wall located in Commercial Center in Las Vegas. November 1999 was the month Chef Saipin and her husband Bill took over Lotus of Siam. Since then, Thai food became an adventure for those willing to step out of their comfort zones for Asian Cuisine. Chef Saipin’s distinct cooking has been passed down from generation to generation, from both her grandmothers and her husband’s grandmothers. Her northern style cooking has opened America into the “Northern” world of Thailand, away from the Bangkok style of sweet and tang. The northern menu consists of hearty herbs and spices, along with Thai style stews and coconut-less curries.     Everything was freshly served every few minutes. Great options and all you can eat Crab and Lobster! The beef Wellington and prime rib were superb with the creamy horseradish sauce. The crust on the lamb chop was perfectly paired with the jelly sauce. So many more things to mention but I’ll let you see for yourself…I highly recommend this buffet and will make it an annual destination! Thank you

    This was our first time at the Golden Steer. There were six in our party and we all had a great time. From the greeting from the hostess to our wait staff, we were greeted with smile and a no problem attitude. The table side Caesar salad was absolutely delicous and my filet mignon was cooked to perfection. And I cannot rave enough on how delicous the special mac and cheese was and I am not a fan of mac and cheese but this changed my mind. The kahlua creme brulee was the best way to end our meal. I highly recommend the Golden Steer for food and service. April
