Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh. Vallozzi's Pittsburgh has recently joined a mere 1,200 restaurants worldwide as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Magazine's Best of Award of Excellence and is the only Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh to receive such an honor.     We went tonight for my mother's birthday and the traffic was so horrible downtown that I had to call the restaurant and ask them to extend our reservation 30 minutes and they were glad to accommodate. Thank you! Once we got there it was freezing with a draft coming in through the back hallway and again they accommodated us and moved us to warmer location. Such kind service and delicious food. I'm a big fan of this place but my parents are older and a little picky and they loved it too! Thanks to the Stellar staff for making it a Flawless evening.

    Great food. Pleasant staff. Small restaurant on first floor. Asked for check to go to theater and got it right away. This is the 4th time I’ve been here. Three out of 4 times the food has been phenomenal for everyone. I will definitely return.
