Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, Amalfi Cucina & Mercato - Downtown Atlanta is a traditional Neapolitan trattoria centered around an open kitchen featuring a 6,000 pound wood-burning brick oven imported from Italy. The 170 seat dining room also has large semicircular booths, custom wrought iron chandeliers along with Juliet balconies overlooking an Italian-inspired entryway. Originating in and the true pizza of Naples in the 1600s, Vera Pizza Napoletana is 12 inches or less in size, made from simple fresh quality ingredients from the Campania region of Italy and cooked at temperatures in excess of 900 degrees in approximately 60 seconds. Just launched, a new menu which includes many fresh pastas, salads, appetizers and desserts, including beautiful imported gelato.     We eat here twice a year during our annual trip to Atlanta. During this trip the food was ample. The biggest turn off was the service. The server did the bare minimum and we felt rushed. The body language and lack of being pleasant was very noticeable as soon as we sat at the table. This is unacceptable for a 5 pm reservation for a party of two. We will return but will request a different server. We’ve had good experiences in the past.

    Highly recommend the bolognese and the steak Milanese. Everything we had was amazing, from apps & drinks to salads and entrees. We were extremely pleased :) also recommend requesting one of the booths if you have a part of 4.

    This was a fantastic evening. Large group of 16 people that the restaurant happily accommodated. Food and atmosphere was outstanding and very authentic. Staff are friendly and helpful. Price was great. Would and will go back as soon as possible.
