- DDavidVIPDallas - Fort Worth •25 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWe have decided to make The Mexican our go-to for our Christmas celebration with one of our best friends from now on. We started at the bar for a cocktail before we were seated in the beautiful main dining room. Our server, Josa (sp?) was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. He pointed out the customer favorites for all parts of the menu. We started with ceviche and queso fundido for our starters, and we had the trio of enchiladas, the ribeye steak, and tacos for the main. We wanted to share everything and Josa did the honors of separating the starters and the mains onto three dishes. As we were finishing our first course, a tequila sommelier came to our table who gave us a mini course on the correct way to taste tequila. Free, interesting, and fun! We finished with the Quatro Leche cake for dessert which was delicious. All in all, one of the best dining experiences for me in the last three years. It’s not cheap, however. All in, dinner and cocktails were north of $700 for the three of us. But, we said we’d definitely do it again. Thanks all for a memorable evening!More infoThe MexicanPrice: Very Expensive• Mexican• Design District•4.7
- JJeffVIPDallas - Fort Worth •9 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoAnother great meal and experience at El Carlos Elegante! We started with cocktails, Cherry Moon and Negroni Cafe, and both were great. The one-hitters, Surf + Turf and Brisket, were exceptional. Don’t miss those two! The Salmon Ceviche and Okra + Shishitos were spot on as usual. We rounded out our meal with a hand-made masa, Chorizo Molotes, which was delicious. Nice crunch on the masa, stuffed with chorizo and refried beans and served with warm salsa roja. The atmosphere was cozy and festive at the same time. To add to the fun, the restaurant was tastefully decorated for the holidays. We’ll definitely be back. A “go-to” restaurant for us. The food and service never disappoints.More infoEl Carlos ElegantePrice: Expensive• American• West Dallas•4.8

They store their wines in a cellar so the older wine that I selected had aged properly. Absolutely will be back the next time we are in town.More infoMercat BistroPrice: Moderate• Contemporary French• Uptown•4.4
