Evelyn’s is an easy-going local restaurant serving brunch classics by day and refined, small plates by night. With the kitchen centred around a charcoal Inka grill, live fire cooking adds personality to the dishes, taking inspiration from Levantine and Pan-asian favourites.     Very good food Very nice service but they are understaffed most of the time and so the waiters struggle Also for such a nice place the bathroom is not very clean or hygienic

    We went here for a roast dinner. Staff were friendly but to be honest the roast wasn’t the best I’ve had. The roast potatoes were hard and very bland, the kale / cabbage was extremely peppery. Beef was nice but not a lot of it. Yorkshire was good so was gravy.

    Usually here during the week as a walk in and it’s great food. Sunday dinner was a little lacking. Too much gravy and very minimal accompaniments to the beef. The Sunday dinner let it down massively.

    As a group of 5 people for dinner, we ordered 2-3 dishes each. Some of them were lovely (Sumac Chicken) but some were very average (Cheeseburger). I understand the whole ‘the food will come out when it’s ready’ thing, but 4 of the 5 had received and eaten all of their dishes before a very poor cheeseburger and fries came out - and to make it worse it wasn’t even hot. Then after that a Caesar salad (which surely must be the quickest/easiest thing to make!) and the place was, at best a 1/3rd full. I didn’t want to make a fuss as it was my daughter’s choice for her birthday. Very disappointed in the food, so won’t be going back, as for £230 for the meal/drinks it’s fair to say, it’s reasonable to expect an excellent meal.

    Great food and service but we were seated in a part of the restaurant where the tables for 2 were placed too close and felt like were were sharing our experience and conversation with 4 other people with very unacceptable space between tables We did ask to move to the other side of the restaurant but unfortunately all were booked up We have been a number of times before and have always sat in the area where the tables are well set out so wouldn’t return unless we could be guaranteed the better table location. However-great food, service and value for money as always
