I never write reviews but in this i case I feel extremely compelled. The service, ambiance, and location are all great. The food however was terrible. Poorly cooked, bad flavor profiles and delivery overall. I think it was one of the worst meals I can recall. There is a lot of potential but something needs to change on the menu and execution.

We had a fantastic birthday dinner at Emmer & Rye last night. We sat at the bar, just the 2 of us, and every staff member we interacted with - from servers to cooks to bussers - took care of us like royalty. Ashley gave us recommendations and created a welcoming vibe, and Maxwell, the cook who worked across from us, took our experience to the next level, with just the right amount of friendly banter while looking out for things like keeping our water carafe full. And that's not even to mention the food, which was all inventive and delicious. We look forward to spending many more special evenings with Emmer & Rye.

Our server Brooke the best- incredibly friendly and helpful! The food was exceptional. Our favorites were the cacio e pepe, carnitas, and the sourdough starter. However you can't go wrong with anything you order! We will absolutely be back.

This was my second visit to Emmer and Rye and the current menu is exquisite. The service is wonderful. Chef Robbie remembering me and welcoming me back was delightful. Definitely sit at the Chef’ Counter when dining at this restaurant.

Food is outstanding. The service is not outstanding. I told the server I was allergic to a food item; we ordered, and he failed to tell me one of the items had my allergy in it. They brought it out and I just agreed to eat around it; however, my dining partner reminded me that we did tell him at the beginning. Even though my food allergy is not life threatening, well if I don't get a Benadryl immediately, that does not mean someone else's is not. It took a few times of him passing by us for us to get his attention. He took it back and someone else came back out with the food. At this point, we were done eating, so I asked him to box it up for we wanted to take it home. It is ultimately on me for I forgot to ask for the food back as he didn't return with it; but one assumes when you ask to take it that it comes back after he acknowledges the request. That was an entree and a half that I left there. Additionally, he was very absent during our entire dinner; to the point our waters were not refilled. We rarely saw him during out dinner. I would recommend the food for the intermixing of flavors is quite wonderful. Unfortunately, the service does not reflect the quality or price of the food.
