Good meal at E&R. Bar staff super friendly and provided great recommendations. Wagyu chewier than expected and could’ve used some seasoning, but all the other dishes were quite nice, especially the pastas. Definitely recommend.

Emmer & Rye never disappoints. The service is always great - the hosts are welcoming and the servers are knowledgeable. We ordered a lot of food so our out of town guests could try a lot - the Cacio e Pepe was of course the fan favorite. The Johnny Cakes, while simple, were also a hit with the fennel relish. We ordered both the cabbage and the broccoli - both were great but the broccoli edged out due to its perfect char. The mushroom chorizo in the Tamal surprised everyone in the best way. The papperdelle and ravioli were as good as we remembered them and we can’t gloss over the bread with the three butters. We also love the focus on sustainability and the passion the staff shows when discussing it.

I had a higher expectation for Emmer & Rye based on prior reviews, and the overall concept of the restaurant. I would say this was a “just fine” experience. I felt there was a lot of hype about the dishes curated, however, the taste was not over the top - very average when compared to similar dishes at other restaurants. I got the Crudo with red snapper and the Pappardelle. The first was fresh and citrusy. The Pappardelle was good, found it to be on the more buttery and oily side, which took away from the taste of the dish especially the meat and the sauce. Overall, a 4 out of 5. I appreciate the farm to table approach, and service was good.

Some dishes are a little bland, but most are quite good. Pastas are usually a good choice, as is the bread plate and desserts. Cocktails and wines by the glass are usually very good. Service is excellent. Reservations are often required.

Food was excellent. Service was great. Table was by the bar which would be our only complaint.

We had the pleasure of sitting at the Chef’s Counter to celebrate our anniversary. Would recommend this to anyone who is able! The way the kitchen runs so smoothly and getting to see our food be made in front of us was an unforgettable experience! Not to mention that each dish was better than the last! All of the staff was very kind and knowledgeable!
