Roy Yamaguchi opens The Eating House 1849
at The Shops at Kukui'ula. Named after one of the first restaurants constructed in Hawai'i, by a Portuguese businessman named Peter Fernandez, Eating House pays homage to the popular casual eateries of the mid 19th century that incorporated a medley of flavors from the Island's growing and diverse communities.

Please call the restaurant to make reservations for parties of 5 or more. For parties of 10 or more we require credit card information to hold the reservation, and follow a 48 hour cancellation/no show policy; any cancellations withing 48 hours of your reservation date, or not showing up to a reservation will result in a charge of $20 per person.

    Food is delicious and different. We ordered the short ribs and the ramen and were very happy with both. Finished off with pineapple upside down cake that was a perfect ending to the night. Service was excellent our drinks were always topped off quickly.

    Service was super slow. Food was amazing! Hopefully they get the service figured out. So many great restaurants options. Every restaurant we have been too the service has been outstanding.

    Amazing meal— super fresh sashimi, rice bowls with butterfish, salmon or chicken- harmoniously seasoned. Great service, fantastic wine list. A classic chocolate lava cake that was silky and fudgy Very memorable meal

    Amazing atmosphere and even better food. The staff was excellent and had great recommendations. Make sure you leave room for pineapple upside down cake.

    This place has gone a little downhill with their food. The crab/corn fritters are not good. Not crispy. The Hapa burger used to be amazing. It was too difficult to eat and just not as good as it used to be. The Butterfish hot pot was good. This used to be a must go to in Kauai. Not anymore. Too many good things have left the menu, food has gone downhill, prices up. Bad combo.
