Great steak but it better be for the price. Service was good, but didn’t match the price tag. Restaurant was very quiet and great for conversation and the Christmas decor was an added treat. Expect to spend about $100/person minimum.

The reservation was at 4:30pm. They didn’t start seating until 4:45pm. The service was very slow. One order of steak was prepared as rare but ordered as medium-rare and had to be sent back to be cooked more. So far, not great, but overall ok. What was not ok was being told that our 90 minutes was up and we needed to leave. After the delays that were completely the restaurants failure In speaking to the manager, her response was that they were busy and we should have known the rules and it not her fault it was busy. What a disappointing experience.

Didn't realize that I would have to go through a huge line to even enter the place. It took about 5-10 minutes to get to entrance because of the festival lights. It seemed that the quality of service I normally see was not there, they were very busy. I felt like I was at a normal restaurant. Also, my favorite desert was not being offered because it takes to long and with the festival they took it off the menu. This was my first time dinning there during the holiday so I had the same expectation as I do when I go during the year. I have learned my lesson and will not dine there during the holiday seasons.

I'm sorry to say our visit to Duane's, on December 22, was very disappointing. Checking in was like entering Fort Knox...I was questioned more than one about my reservation and had to dig out my phone to prove it, then my name was found on their list...very condescending. The restaurant was understaffed, although we had a wonderful server. The food took forever to arrive and immediately I could smell the ahi tuna was not fresh and had to wait again for a replacement dish. The beautiful, blond server, whose name I neglected to get, did present my son with a wonderful birthday treat. She made up for a lot of what went wrong.

Our waitress was the absolute best. She went above and beyond. The kitchen was out of blue cheese olives and she had them stuffed some more for my martini. She made the experience much more grand.

We ordered the surf and turf, which included their center-cut filet mignon. I had the Australian wagyu New York strip, and we ordered several sides: garlic mashed potatoes, baked potato, and truffle macaroni and cheese. Overall, the food was mediocre. The Australian wagyu had a flavor reminiscent of a diner’s New York strip. The mashed garlic potatoes tasted more like white pepper than any other seasoning. The baked potato was a “build-your-own” option, which was disappointing. The lobster had an unpleasant fishy taste, and the macaroni and cheese was the only decent dish served.

Duane's is a very expensive restaurant. I knew that going in. It was our anniversary, so we splurged. During the holiday season, The Mission Inn is extremely crowded with people visiting the hotel to see the lights and take pictures. Parking was a nightmare and costs us $20 for two hours. The steak I had was delicious, but the baked potato was just ho hum. We had one glass of wine each and our meals and with tip the bill was $320. The carolers that came around to our table to sing was a nice bonus. The service was impeccable. But we won't be back. I've had better meals for a fraction of the cost.
