The Horned Dorset Inn is the quintessential destination for memorable fine dining and lodging in central New York, serving seasonal, contemporary and classical French cuisine. Chef Wratten combines produce from the restaurant’s own organic gardens with locally produced meats and cheeses. Fish is an affinity for the chef, given 25 years at his signature restaurant in Rincon, Puerto Rico, and vegetarians will delight in his mindful creations. Aaron is an alumnus of “Aureole” under Charlie Palmer and “Restaurant Daniel” under Daniel Boulud. Located in a beautifully restored historical building, in the small town of Leonardsville it has been lovingly managed by the same family for nearly 44 years. Another delicious meal at LaBella’s! The house salad is an excellent start! Our meals came out promptly and hot from the oven! Service, food and value make this our “go to” restaurant of choice. Happy Holidays!’

I was surprised by the fact that it was a small restaurant with a very small defined menu. However, my surprise turned to extraordinary delight when I ordered a small bite and dinner that were truly outstanding along with the incredible wine pairings. This is one of those hidden gem restaurants that I was lucky to find while traveling on business through Syracuse.

My husband & I love this restaurant. Food & service are excellent! Drinks are different & very good. New twists on old recipes. A Manhattan with cherry smoke for an example. Waitresses are up on dishes, how they are made. A very enjoyable evening. With little surprises in between courses. We always get the price fix menu. Expect to pay a little more than an ordinary Utica dinner. But it is truly worth it. The bar area seems to be busy. Very glad we went!
