Don’s Favorite Foods is a prix-fixe restaurant created by husband and wife team Chef Don Salamone and Kate Laurents in partnership with Sommelier Adam Galbraith.

Our menu changes monthly and highlights dishes Don grew up with as well as those he mastered though working at Michelin-starred restaurants across the country.

From Don: You may find gnocchi like my Ma used to make or Italian sausage modeled after my Godfather’s, Oreste “Ernie” Capone. You might find scallops still in their shells, Oregon pork in the style of Braciole, & popovers I learned to make from my mother-in-law, Terry, because she makes those every Christmas morning... beef tartare, sea urchin, caviar, etc too. These things are all my favorites.

The LaChona brand was born out of a love for sharing incredible wine with close friends and family. Ask any Argentinian what their favorite pastime is and they will likely say “asado con familia”, or grilling with the family. Slow-cooked lechon, fire-kissed chorizo, and hand-crafted empanadas born of generational influences and traditions are all paired with the perfect Malbec, Cabernet Franc, or Semillon every Sunday. We couldn’t have enjoyed our dinner more! A group of six, never been to LaChona before but decided to give it a try. The food was fabulous, the wine flights were tasty, and the service was impeccable. Perfect for small groups who want a fresh, new experience.

The table we requested was already booked and we were disappointed not to get the one we asked for. However, they put us at a wonderful booth and it was very quiet and we had a lovely time. The food was fabulous as usual and the service was great. Our server was helpful, kind but not TOO attentive.

Theres’s a surprising depth of Burmese food in NYC. After having it in abundance in San Francisco I was pleasantly surprised to find a high quality Burmese restaurant in a Portland suburb on a random trip so I booked a team dinner here. The food was better the second time and I plan on coming back any time I’m in the area.

My friends and I had another awesome lunch today. We all had sandwiches! Two of us had BLTs and one had a burger! All were delicious! Stanford’s is our favorite lunch spot year round!
