Every once in a while you come across a neighborhood gem and this is one of them. From the exterior looks old school formal. Inside, a laid-back atmosphere welcoming regulars as well as newbies. A good diverse menu of Italian with classics to be found throughout. The quality of the food is top notch coupled with pricing that is affordable for the quality. Be sure to consider the tartufo for dessert. My one issue, the service is quick i.e. from eating to the end of the meal was 45 minutes i.e. little to no time between courses. While there would be no issues lingering at your table and there is full bar service and wine list and by the glass, the service is not necessarily fine dining paced. With all that said, now included in our rotation of Italian in Midtown East. While Il Monello is around the corner and is an excellent option, more formal and expensive. Da Raffaele is an excellent choice for a delicious, casual Italian meal.

The food was excellent and the service was phenomenal. Da Rafaelle is the kind of restaurant that is an experience. We’ve been there many times and have never had a bad meal. Now, it’s like coming home. If you’ve ever had an Italian friend’s mom cook for you then you’ll appreciate Da Rafaelle except that the dishes are new and inventive.

We had another great experience at Da Raffaele: quiet atmosphere even for a 7 pm reservation on a Saturday evening. Wonderful specials, good wine list, great service. All in all, a very satisfying evening.

When we walked in I knew this was going to be a great experience! The ambiance was old world. The food was spectacular and the service was perfect. The owner came over to greet us and was involved with the service as . We will be back next week.
