Best Steak Restaurants in North Center

I have been going to RL since they first opened. Always lovely, comfortable, clubby, excellent. It is a joy to be there. It is hard not to have the Dover sole. My favorite. And tonight. Joseph was our waiter. He was superb. Attentive but not too much. Classy. Friendly. But not too much. Works on the west side of the restaurant. I would ask for him. Can’t wait to go back.

Another wonderful meal at Gene and Georgetti! This restaurant is consistently fantastic every time we’ve dined there over the last 20 years. The wait staff and hosts are always warm and helpful and professional. I have always loved the old school ambience and the menu. With all the steak house options in Chicago, this has always been my go-to. The food is delicious and the wine selection and cocktails are similarly wonderful.

First, kudos to our wait staff, who were pleasant, energetic, and efficient, on a major holiday when the restaurant was extremely busy. Food was excellent. Burrata & prosciutto is delish, and there was plenty for a table of four to share while enjoying cocktails. Pork shank is tender & tasty. Dover Sole was excellent, and deboned at table, as is proper. Pappardelle Bolognese is terrific, and a huge portion. Apple crostata & gelato wrapped up an excellent Christmas meal. We'll be back!

The entire experience was wonderful. The steak and chips were made to perfection. The sides are generous for sharing. Our server Grace was attentive and knew the menu beautifully. Her descriptions of the Chop House offerings were like listening to gastronomy poetry. The bar staff was kind enough to shake up a cocktail request that was not on the menu. Victor had made sure our experience was at the level that the management strives to deliver, which they did. It was a wonderful Christmas Eve memory.

Best steakhouse I have been to in years. I’m sad to see it closing at the end of the year.
