- WWillardChicago / Illinois •10 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe took two friends here for Thanksgiving dinner and had an excellent time. The decor is pleasingly dark and polished but with plenty of light. The food was very good. My husband has a filet of sole, which was filleted right at the table and was delicious, according to him. Two of us had the prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner, which was traditional (turkey, etc.); it was substantial and well-presented. Our fourth had the seafood grill, which he enjoyed. Service was exceptional from Matt (although I think he was a little disappointed we were all from Chicago) and the others helping him. We had an early reservation (11:00 am), arriving when there was hardly anyone there. By the time we left the restaurant was full but the noise level was still low and it was easy to carry on a conversation during the meal. It was our first visit and I think we may come back. A very enjoyable time.More infoJoe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone CrabPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• River North (Chicago)•4.9

The Mag Mile Martini was amazing, the smoked carrots so yummy, and the BBQ pork chop hefty and perfectly cooked. The timing of drinks, starters, and entrees was unhurried but not slow. We will definitely be going back, and with friends.More infoThe EviePrice: Expensive• American• River North (Chicago)•4.8

It’s not that the ambience in Rosemont is bad, but we fell in love with Gibsons Italia. A bit more modern in its decor with the same excellent food and a fabulous view! - MMichelevipSan Francisco Bay Area •4 reviews4.0Dined 4 days agoThis is a challenging review to write. The food and cocktails were excellent. Truly the best French dip that I have ever had and a wonderful, creative Harvest Salad with Brussels sprouts and squash and bacon in a lovely, creamy lemon vinaigrette. Well-made, tasty cocktails led by an olive-oil infused martini which I will promptly try to replicate at home. Now for the bad part—The service was terrible and colored the entire experience. Our server would simply disappear for long periods of time. Poof—gone. Nowhere to be seen. And I mean long periods…..Like 20 minutes. Our drink order sat on the bar for at least 15 minutes, maybe longer. I could see it from where I was sitting and almost went up to pick it up myself. Our drinks finally were delivered about 30 seconds before our food, which was delivered by a runner, not our server. At this point, our server again disappeared and we had to ask another server for our check. We did notice other tables that were assigned to him asking other servers for help. In retrospect, the problem started at the very beginning of our visit. We waited a long time for a greeting, and then lets just say he set a leisurely pace for both our drink and food orders. And, this was a late lunch on a weekday. The first floor was maybe half full and the top floor was totally closed, so the mystery remains of where our server could possibly have been stealing off to. And I should add that there was not one acknowledgement from our server, or anyone else, that there was a problem. Guess this is the experience that you are going for? Net effect is that my dining mate will not return. I may try again—The food was that good. Overall, a great experience to remind one that the service really does matter.More infoThe Oakville Grill & CellarPrice: Expensive• American• West Loop•4.7

The music level was, in our opinion, too loud to maintain a pleasant conversation. It id not seem to affect other diners. Your Italian wines list is superb. We tried a bottle from Sicily (on our own but with approval from your in house sommelier).More infoRPM Italian - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• Italian• River North (Chicago)•4.6
