Best Seafood Restaurants in Koreatown

Since 1990 when I enjoyed my first dinner at WaterGrill during intermission the Pulitzer Prize winning Premiere production of Angels in America to my 50th Birthday dinner in 2016 till 2024 Christmas Eve; WaterGrill is an ever green of fine food, drink excellent atmosphere and great service.

Each time I step into Catch LA, I feel like royalty. The ambiance is sexy, but it is the service that truly steals the show each time! Every member of the staff exudes professionalism and genuine warmth. They anticipate our needs before we even realize them, making every experience at my favorite LA restaurant impeccable - so much so that we've made coming to Xmas Eve dinner at Catch LA an annual tradition with my chosen family! I have no notes on the effortless quality of food, beverages, and, most importantly, THE SERVICE and THAT is why Catch LA is a step above the rest! Come for a cocktail at the bar, enjoy stunning rooftop views of the city while having delectable food and beverages, and experience dining at its finest! Rately do I post a glowing review of restaurants, but @nikuxla will be getting one. From host, server (thank you, Wilson), to details: A+ King crab 🦀 legs were so fresh, that when you pulled the shell from on end, the crab meat slides off the shell of the other. We were most impressed by the Wagyu Udon, which had the exact Al Dente texture and taste, with the coated level of wagyu meat sauce around the veggies, noodles, and overall. Serving was correct for 2 people per order. Would have loved to have tried the fresh scallops (which were not available upon our visit). But the lobsters were adequate to adjust our attention, along with the King crab and Snow crab legs. Sashimi was constantly being topped off, and the ponzu and soy were good quality. The toro and hamachi were good quality cuts, and not veiny. Wagyu Japan and American options were a variety of 5 different choices. We were impressed with the quality. We also tried the Chilean sea bass (not hugely impressed), the Miso Corn (very good), Wagyu Black Pepper Don (average), but our Lamb Lollipop Katsu was our chef cooked favorite. Wilson was excellent. He provided us with a special cheesecake that was not available to the public, and we will definitely return for this reason. Thank you. Overall for the $99 price tag, we would consider returning. Our experience was the day before Xmas. I specifically requested a table with a grill, and was provided exactly the table. Would not ask for more. We will return. Thank you again.

We had such a wonderful time last night. We were a group of 12 for a birthday party. The service could not have been better. We were so well taken care of from beginning to end. We were visiting Los Angeles from Washington DC. I heard wonderful things and saw great reviews about Providence. Wonderful experience at Providence. We sat at the chef’s table. The staff was excellent and professional. They answered all questions and requests. Chef Micheal Cimarusti was very gracious and welcoming. His food was delicious and the presentation of the food was beautiful and elegant. Definitely would dine again at Providence. It was an amazing experience and wonderful night.
