Bringing traditional Vera Pizza Napoletana to the West LoopPlease note we do not take reservations for our Patio outdoors, it is first come first serve. We also operate on a 90 minute dine time for the entire restaurant. Thank you for your corporationFor Our Gluten Free Diners please make reservations for gluten free dough. In our effort to serve the best and safest quality product our gluten free is available in limited supply, we strive to always have it available sometimes demand is greater and we do run out. Pizza in Napoli is soft and foldable and can be considered “wet” by American standards. For this reason, people in Napoli generally eat their pizza with a knife and fork. Blackened char spots on the pizza crust is a tell–tale sign of Pizza Napoletana that has been cooked in a blistering hot, wood-burning oven.

Food and service was great. Thin crust pizza was undercooked, disappointed. The Malnati Chicago classic deep dish was good but definitely skimpy on ingredients compared to the last time we went to a different Lou's location.

The food and vibes were great! Our waitress, Casey, was amazing. Only thing that was really annoying was their obvious urge to turn tables over. In a matter of minutes, we had 4-5 separate people try to take our food that we were clearly still eating (literally said “no thank you, we’re still working on that” while we were mid-chew). The same thing happened with our drinks. We had a bottle of champagne in an ice bag that we repeatedly had people take out of the bag to check how much was remaining. Other than feeling rushed, this place was awesome.

As fans of Rose Mary we were eager to try El Carciofi and willing to take a 4:45 reservation. This is as fun and as delicious as Rose Mary and shares the same approach to dining—shareable small plates. Interesting craft cocktails, sufficient wines by the glass, exceptionally well trained wait staff and very flavorful food. Gus menu was all Rome inspired so it was a little less diverse than Rose Mary. The artichokes were spectacular crisply Rome style. Every inch was edible. Two to an order but they bring you a serrated knife if you want to have them. We had one other appetizer (calamari), one pasta and one seafood main. The portions are great for two to share but if three or four order another something or two and expect to get just a couple bites not full servings. They have $8 servings of gelato and sorbet and a couple amazing deserts they offered to checkout coats.a nice touch in Chicago’s winter. It’s easy to spend $100 per person if you gave two drinks each and desert. We found street parking but forgot to feed the meter since the sign wasn’t obvious so double check
