Thomas Makris, from the Island of Skopelos, fell in love when he met Helen Babalos. They met at Orestes Greek restaurant in 1974, while on a Greek dancing tour of North America. Soon after their marriage, they had a vision to open a place like no other in Vancouver; a Greek restaurant where everyone is family; where everyone receives a consistent experience created by delicious homemade authentic food and impeccable service. Never been to Il Nido before until yesterday (2024 11 28). Had lunch with a friend. We were pretty much the only folks in the place. The waiter/bartender (didn't catch his name) was excellent. The food even better. A bit of a hidden secret well worth investigating. I'll be going again very soon.

Had a fantastic dining experience at Selene. Our server made great recommendations for both food and beverage and the overall experience was wonderful. Stand out dish for me was the mussels with green olive focaccia although we also had the octopus, lamb ribs and patatas; all of which were delicious. We capped off the night with the orange almond cake, which was incredibly tasty, with just the right amount of sweetness to it. Would definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning and trying more of the menu.
