- WWilliamLos Angeles •5 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoStarted with the she crab soup which was remarkable. Then a swamp fox burger, which is a very generous half pound cooked to perfection. Spectacular quality meat. Finished the meal with their delicious butter cake. Very attentive wait staff. Great piano player in the background. - AAlOrlando / Central Florida East •24 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 14, 2024Had reservations for brunch in a few days but was looking for a casual southern place for dinner and VOK absolutely filled the desire! From the very start with the Tomato Pie appetizer we knew this was going to be good! Deviled eggs were okay but nothing special, She Crab Soup was on point! The cornbread they served with the appetizers was amazing and served as dessert as well! I had the Crispy Cod BLT with Onion Casserole on the side and my wife hade a small house salad, still quite large! Everything was delicious and plentiful! Service was excellent throughout the meal and some creative seasonal cocktails. My wife tried the Aperol Spritz with a twist of Apple Juice and Cinnamon and loved it! We both can’t wait to go back for brunch! Friendly atmosphere, a bit loud but some great music playing as well!More infoVirginia's on KingPrice: Moderate• Southern• Downtown Charleston•4.5
- SBSarahBWest Palm Beach •6 reviews5.0Dined on Oct 11, 2024Let me start by saying Mike is an incredible host, server, chef, and historian. This was a one of a kind experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique culinary experience in Charleston. While it is not a conventional restaurant, Mike takes you on a culinary journey of 18th and 19th century low country cuisine, keeping things as authentic as possible while still appealing to our modern palates. Each dish was carefully crafted and thoughtfully prepared. The table was full of strangers, but we all got to chat and listen to Mike’s wonderful presentation of Charleston history to go along with each dish. Our specific meal was centered around Legacy families of Charleston, so we enjoyed dishes each family would have also enjoyed. Mike deserves all of the attention and reservations he can handle. As he says, he’s one of Charleston’s best kept secrets, and I believe that to be true because I had a fantastic experience.More infoHistoric Charleston Supper ClubPrice: Very Expensive• American• Downtown Charleston•4.5
