- SshernellHouston •2 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoI’ve had Swahili Village on the list to visit for at least a year and I am so glad that I got to celebrate my birthdate at this establishment. It was such a good experience! The ambiance was given what I needed it to give to celebrate another year of life, the service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everyone at my lunch/dinner thoroughly enjoyed their meal, which made me super happy. I had the samosas and the red snapper with jollof rice and cabbage. The jollof was just how I like my jollof, flavorful and not dry. The portion size of each dish was a good amount and the food was seasoned well. I also sampled the suya which was cooked perfectly. Needless to say, I was not disappointed at all! Swahili Village made a fan out of me and I now know when I’m craving some good African food, just where to go!More infoSwahili Village The ConsulatePrice: Very Expensive• African• Dupont Circle•4.5

The staff was super nice and helpful. This was first experience with hookah so I had no idea what I should order. However, my waitress explained everything with great patience. There was a young man who came around to refresh the hookah so I didn't have to worry about that. The food was delicious. I honestly can't wait to go back!More infoLe JardinPrice: Moderate• Middle Eastern• Baileys Crossroads•4.9

It wasn’t her fault that service was slow but she was amazing given the magnitude of people and she seemingly was working alone. My food was delicious! I ordered the pan seared salmon (with an amazing beurre blanc sauce), creamy mashed potatoes and collard greens (which were not seasoned properly - I’m a southerner). The band (Wes Got my Own Sound) was great. I’ll definitely want to check them out again. If you don’t like loud music, this isn’t the spot for you. I love to eat good food and dance to good music so it was perfect for me!More infoSoBe Restaurant & LoungePrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Lanham•4.2
