The fish dish was a bit bland but everything else was so fresh and tasty! Our server was wonderful!More infoMinami Restaurant - TorontoPrice: Expensive• Japanese• King West•4.6
- AAnnikaNew York City •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIt was my first time at Akira Back for my anniversary and I was taken aback. Firstly, the ambience is beautiful with a lot of attention to detail, a modern design and low lighting - perfect for a date night! Our server Rishi was extremely attentive throughout the night, providing recommendations, free champagne and dessert with a personalized anniversary note handwritten across the plate. She also was so detail-oriented as to fold my fiancé's napkin when he went to the bathroom. Three different servers made a point to wish us a "Happy Anniversary," which we were grateful for. Next, the food was outstanding! I would highly recommend the Grilled Alaskan King Crab (the presentation was stellar and taste was A+) and any of the sushi rolls! The tuna just melts in your mouth. Ugh! We also had the Miso Black Cod which was glazed in a sweet, buttery sauce. The Ribeye was good but not great because all the others were so unique compared to what we're used to when dining out. All in all, I'd highly recommend. Though this is not a cheap place to eat, it's so worth it for a special occasion. Also bonus points for the photo ops in the staircase!More infoAkira BackPrice: Very Expensive• Asian• Entertainment District•4.8
- HHeatherToronto / Ontario •3 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoIt was a lovely dining experience first time there and truly enjoyed our evening. Service was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was absolutely phenomenal. The chef created a special menu for Valentine’s Day and I’m so glad we chose. I got to experience some foods that I wouldn’t normally ever order. We will be back.More infoBlue Bovine Steak + Sushi HousePrice: Very Expensive• Steak• Entertainment District•4.4
- JjohnToronto / Ontario •3 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe decided to use Winterlicious to try out Aera. First of all the view is amongst the best in North America , overlooking the city with the CN tower and lakes in full view. Truly breathtaking. Our server was highly attentive. We both started with the Beet and Goats Cheese salad which was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. My wife had the Salmon Pone Bowl with Edamame, Avocado, Quinoa flavoured with ginger and a delicious sauce. I had the Pork Loin Schnitzel with some of the best roasted potatoes I have ever eaten. The star of the meal however was the Sticky Toffee Pudding which came with praline encrusted ice cream, it scored 20 out of 10. From this first experience we have decided to celebrate our anniversary this year with dinner and some nice wine at Aera and to enjoy the full menu experience. I have had the luck through my career to have eaten at many of the worlds finest restaurants, I do not exaggerate when I say I would place Aera in my top 10 for ambience and quality. A real experienceMore infoAeraPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• King West•4.4
- TAToriAToronto / Ontario •2 reviews4.0Dined on May 5, 2024The value for what we had was outstanding - sashimi dishes were very fresh, very nice quality, and the rolls were delicious. The karaage was great as well. We ordered around 8:45pm and several dishes were sold out: all of the wagyu dishes, the spring rolls, and the hapa pockets; the sushi bites sold out after our first order, so when we asked for a second we weren’t able to get more. Sapporo on tap was great. Half of our party doesn’t drink and the mocktails were delicious. It was extremely loud inside - I think if you want a quieter meal, try to get an earlier seating, toward the back of the restaurant. Our server was lovely, but service was a bit slow at times. Over all, a good experience for a fun relaxed atmosphere.More infoHapa Izakaya - TorontoPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Little Italy / College St.•4.6
