We were greeted at the entrance by a super friendly and efficient host and hostess. Some of our party had the turkey which was better than mine for sure! . The rest of us had sole which was delicious! And the best Cesar salad in NYC. The wines were amazing and good value - recommended by their Sommelier Roosevelt. Gregory the bartender kicked the night off with brilliant cocktails and a nice pour of champagne! All in all a wonderful Thanksgiving feast. The food was great, the service terrific (didn't get her name, but a swell Latina was our server). And we had a New York experience. A middle aged couple was celebrating her birthday so they had a chocolate cake. They only wanted a slice or two, so they gave it to the mother & son from Santa Fe next to us. They had to rush to a show, so they gave it to us. We only wanted a slide, too, so we shared it with a young lady and grandmother (who was having a birthday with sherbet and a candle!). So the cake pleased FOUR tables at your restaurant! This has happened to us several times now, usually in NYC, but also in Florence and Rome! Thanks for a great evening. But they were able to work something out to take us in. They sat us in the basement of the restaurant, like their cellar since the walls were filled with unopened wine bottles. The ambiance was still good and the noise level was much quieter, too than the main dining area. We ordered a pitcher of sangria, grilled octopus for appetizers, seafood with black pasta and Tony's veal for our main entrees and affogato and tiramisu with coffee for dessert. We were very happy and satisfied with our food. They were all excellently prepared like we expected. Will definitely keep coming back! Tony's is one of our favorite restaurants to go to in NYC. The hostess made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and the attentive service continued throughout the evening. I spoke with the manager, who went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, ensuring we had everything we needed for a great experience. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for our gathering. Tagliatelle was fantastic as a Primo. Scungili salad was the special which was excellent. Best pork chop I’ve ever had (with potatoes and hot peppers). My wife had the shrimp and she loved it.
