Best Italian Restaurants in Concord

Since the beginning years ago, an outstanding restaurant continues to deliver creative Italian cooking and successful ambience...delicious every time. BRAVO!

This was our first time at Sogno and we're already looking forward to returning. It was a quiet start to the day so we sat at the bar and Izza could not have provided any better service. We were not rushed and when things changed she let us know. Being new we decided to take our time and try a bit of a few things starting with a white wine. They have a nice selection and priced well. We shared the Arancini for a starter. Having Cacio e Pepe inside was a nice choice, but the lovely crusty outside really set this starter apart (from the same dish at other places). We next chose a red wine to go with our dinners. We had a general selection and were going to ask for assistance as they have an excellent selection of Borolo's but while we waited for Kelly to assist notice something different (that's one of the good (and bad) things of Italian wines, there are so many grapes); Mastroberardine. Kelly explained that was the area the owners are from, and that sold us. It was a lovely wine to go with my Bolognese and Julie's Genovese Tagliatelle. The Bolo was a little different with a bit less meat and a bit more tomato than I think of true Italian Bolognese, but it was delicious (and I will have it again). Julies Genovese was exquisite, definitely a must try. Winding down we decided to spilt a dessert, the ricotta pie was excellent. We try new places mainly based on the food and wine but here as most of our favorite places, the people truly shined Izza and Kelly made our meal special and ensured we'll be back. Thank you both. I'm going to start this review by saying that I know that the federal is a steak house. And the steak, beef Wellington and appetizer dishes are amazing! But I do expect high quality from the other dishes on the menu. The single vegetarian entree on the menu is a vegetable pasta (pasta Genovese), and it was terrible. Flavorless and swimming in an oily sauce. I usually don't expect variety in vegetarian food at a steakhouse, but I don't expect to not be able to actually eat the dish.

As an Italian immigrant, I am always looking for good, real Italian food, and most times I leave a restaurant disappointed. But not last night. My wife and I met two friends at Vinotta last night and as always I walked in a bit skeptical, but within minutes I felt differently. We were greeted by the most gracious hostess, our server came right away, told us the specials, pronounced all dishes properly and made some recommendations. The food was OUTSTANDING! The flavors were incredible. I had the “Calamari so good” which was indeed so good..my wife had the shrimp Portofino, which was delicious…our friends had the grilled octopus and they raved about it. We then had lobster ravioli and the Bucatini alla Romana.. Everything was delicious… As we walked out my wife said to me “You have to take me here again for a romantic dinner just the two of us “… Can’t wait to go back. Grazie Dante e Fausto!
