- DDonnaVIPCalgary / Southern Alberta •5 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoDelightful table for 2 by the fireplace with exceptional professional service from our server. Food and drinks came promptly and all dishes were outstanding - exceeding our expectations. Steak was done perfectly, crispy potatoes fan-tastic, the blistered tomatoes amazingly flavorful with cheesy sauce cleaned up with beautiful foccacia bread. The zucchini salad was a delightful surprise bursting with flavors all equally balanced. Bravo to our server and all the chefs in the kitchen. Its was a tremendous dining experience for us. Thank you.More infoCHARCUT University DistrictPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Calgary•4.5

Beet salad outstanding, gnocchi amazing, with a great Macon! Nicest people serving. Always feel appreciated by the staff here, always a great experience!More infoUNA pizza + wine Calgary: BroadcastPrice: Moderate• Pizzeria• Aspen / Strathcona / West Springs•4.8
- TTedCalgary / Southern Alberta •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoThree of us recently dined at Vero for the first time. I decided to take a moment to write a review since we were all very impressed with the quality of the service, the ambiance, the quality of the food, and the attention to detail. Two of us had the surf and turf platter and the other had the tagliatelle puttanesca. We also had some olives to start and tiramisu to finish. The suggested wine pairing with the platter was spot on and was not overly expensive. After the first few bites, it soon became apparent that the chef was able to capitalize on the quality and marriage of the ingredients for flavour so did not need to use excessive salt, sweetness or butter as a crutch. While the pasta and the platter offerings were all terrific, I thought the lamb stood out. It was exceptional. Dining at Vero is not cheap but I think it is good value considering the outstanding quality of the food and service. I will definitely be back. By the way, I'm almost positive that I saw Mr. Frank Wong dining at a nearby table. Frank Wong seems to have disappeared from the scene over the past decade or so, but some foodies may recall that "back in the day" Frank Wong was one of the country's most discerning yet reclusive food critics. The fact that Frank Wong chooses to dine at Vero is high praise indeed.More infoVero Bistro ModernePrice: Moderate• Italian• Calgary•4.8
