- LLisavipNew York City •9 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoDoylestown keeps getting better and better! Over the last 5 to 10 years the food and wine scene has continued to improve. In my view, frost continues that improvement. It brings the sophistication of a largest city experience to beautiful Doylestown. My friend and I enjoyed the ambience of the bar and dining area, although there were relatively a few people there this Thanksgiving week. I have it on good authority, though, then on the weekends, it is packed! We started with martinis that were well balanced in terms of unique flavors and a few surprises. My martini in particular came with a side of champagne! For our appetizer we ordered, the caviar tasting. It is listed on the menu as serving 2 to 4 people so we went for it. It was delicious and nicely served. However, I think the serving size was a little too much for two people. my suggestion to Frost is to offer two sizes, one for two people and one for four people. For main courses, I ordered filet mignon that was delicious, tender and melted like butter in my mouth. I ordered it medium and was delighted that came out as ordered since all too often, other restaurants I’ve experienced get the temp wrong. The steak came with peppercorn sauce and an array of vegetables and roasted garlic that was delicious. My friend ordered a dish with scallops, shrimp, and octopus and noted the sauce alongside was a lot like a chimichurri - though it was listed as a red pepper sambal on the menu. She loved it! Will definitely return to try out many of the tapas style dishes, and some of the other unique martinis on the menu. A note on cost and value. I’ve seen reviews stating that Frost is “pricey” and “expensive” - and in the context of surrounding restaurants, i think that is correct. However, I rated it as 4 stars out of 5 for value, since it’s an experience that can’t be had any where nearby that I’m aware of. And dining in larger cities, the pricing seemed similar. Bottom line: A unique experience worth going to!More infoFrost DoylestownPrice: Moderate• Fusion / Eclectic• Doylestown•4.8

- JBJBfromNJWashington, D.C. Area •3 reviews5.0Dined on Jan 3, 2016This restaurant is worth the hype; be sure to make weekend reservations way in advance (they are strict about them). The meals come as small plates, and the waiter kindly equated the first grouping of plates to being appetizers, the second grouping as main courses, and the third as sides. My husband and I ordered the carpaccio portabello mushrooms and the roasted golden beets to start. Perfectly presented and the right meld of flavors in each. For the next courses, one dish out did the next. Meat eaters will not be disappointed. We finished with a small scoop of cherry sorbet with balsamic vinegar; be sure to give it a try. We look forward to going again the next time we are in Philly.More infoVedgePrice: Expensive• Vegetarian• Center City•4.7
