Best French Restaurants in Rancho Mirage

Absolutely delightful from start to finish! In Palm Desert the French Rotisserie Cafe is our favorite restaurant that we have to visit anytime when we come for a visit. I had one of the daily specials which was a French Cassoulet with Duck Confit on top and it was absolutely delicious! My husband had a delightful, seafood combination, served in a puff pastry shell and he said it was wonderful. For dessert, we shared a wonderful apple tart with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. The service was impeccable as always, and we’d like to say thank you to everyone for such a lovely evening. 

We had an event to celebrate and we often go to Chez Pierre for such occasions. We have been dining here since 2015 and this recent evening we had one of our best meals in that time. Service, led by the marvelous Arturo, was great. Arturo is friendly, polite, and efficient. We got the usual warm welcome and a nice table in the corner. Our appetizers came quickly and our mains followed soon after we'd finished them. Both dinners were the best we've had at Chez Pierre. This was another great evening with the great staff and chefs at this wonderful restaraunt.

It was absolutely an outstanding meal and the service was unparalleled. We had a waiter called Nicholas and he was the best Waiter we have had in living memory. So gracious never imposing always there when you need him and invisible when you don’t. If I owned a restaurant, I would certainly poach him or at least send my staff to dine there and learn from his polished execution!!

We were passing through Palm Desert on Christmas Eve and were able to secure a reservation at Cafe Des Beauz-Arts…and were not disappointed. The servers were very attentive and upbeat (despite having to work on Christmas Eve!). I had the Sand Dabs Picatto and the flavors were wonderful…although maybe a little too fishy tasting. Beet Salad and French Onion soup were delectable. A non-alcoholic wine/mocktail selection would have been nice. Raspberry crème brule and cappuccinos were perfect endings to the meal!

Couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas Eve dinner experience. Starting with the best up Manhattan I’ve ever had. Service by Moses (good server name for this occasion) was excellent. And then the food. Best lobster crab cakes in the desert and a shared ribeye. Perfection all. So much food we even had take home left overs.
