Tangerine adds an automatic 18% gratuity which in our case was definitely justified because our server was great and I even added extra tip but gratuity should be left to the diners’ discretion based on their experiences with the server. Also the hotel have the restaurant validate parking for only two hrs which is inadequate between finding parking, walking in, walking out, finding the car, reaching the exit, and a leisure holiday meal. Should be able to get validation for three hours at least. Otherwise the food is delicious and creative. The salads are absolutely amazing. - SSusanCalifornia Central Coast •12 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoThe food was outstandingly fresh, high quality, and creatively prepared and served. The price fixe menu of many courses seemed to climb a bell curve, with the least interesting being the shrimp chip and dip starter ‘snack’ , climbing to a magnificent crescendo with the the scallop and mussel small plate, and an equally exquisite plate of the freshest sliced kampachi. Each plate was beautiful, graced with curated vegetables, flowers, and delicate sauces that completed, never overpowered. Our only complaint: we found the dessert disappointing in flavor, appearance and texture: a choux pastry ball with a heavy dull filling, sitting on top of a scatter of what resembled stale cocoa puff cereal pieces. I would have traded it for the rich creamy mascapone ice cream served earlier, sans the caviar topping. The service was outstanding: gracious, helpful, attentive, knowledgeable and well orchestrated. Overall we had a fabulous dining experience, exceeding our highest expectations. In most every way, including price, dining here is a special occasion; we could not understand how or why most diners we observed were wearing gym clothes, T-shirts and jeans, sneakers, fuzzy slippers. What’s next: dining in our underwear? How about a dress code?!More infoHeritagePrice: Very Expensive• Californian• Long Beach•4.7
- MMichelleOrange County •4 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 15, 2024Been here twice and enjoyed the experience both times. The servers and crowd were kind and fun. The food and drinks were delicious. My only complaint is about parking. Valet gives guests a 2 hour window of free parking and then it is $15 an hour after (even with restaurant receipt).More infoThe PeelPrice: Moderate• Californian• Orange•4.7
