Pillar in Bishop Arts is a dining experience that truly stands out! Chef Peja has curated a menu that is both inventive and satisfying, making this restaurant a must-visit. We started with the tuna carpaccio, beef tartare, and the standout Nashville Hot Oysters—an absolute must-try! The oysters were perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat and left us wanting more. Next, we enjoyed both the burrata salad and the beet salad, each showcasing fresh ingredients and thoughtful presentation. For our entrees, we had the Branzino and the Duck, Leek, and Bacon Pie, with the Agnolotti on the side. The branzino was cooked to perfection with a crispy skin, while the pie was rich, hearty, and packed with flavor. The agnolotti was a delicious accompaniment and tied everything together beautifully. We ended the meal with the coconut pie, which was absolutely amazing—a sweet and satisfying conclusion to a fantastic dinner. Pillar’s ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service was impeccable throughout the evening. Chef Peja has truly created something special in Bishop Arts, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience, Pillar is the place to go!

Food was very good. The salads were tasty and the hummus appetizer was great. The salmon was also very good. The main dining room wasn’t used so we were sitting in the bar area which was a little noisy but not too bad. One weird item was that we were initially asked to give our credit card at the beginning of the meal. This is a nicer hotel restaurant. That seems more like what a college bar would ask you to do.

When booking we didn’t realize the restaurant was in a hotel so walking in was a bit awkward, there’s no distinct entrance other than through a side door from the outside or through the lobby. There’s no hostess stand or anyone to seat you so you just find a spot and sit. Pros: Impressive wine list, I was surprised to see some of the more prestigious wines from Napa on there. Service, the manager got our wine right away and our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations when asked. Food, came within 10 minutes of ordering and everything was the proper temperature. My one complaint here, some of the pieces of the baguette for the Burrata had a huge hole in it so it was difficult to get a bite from that one. Just a details thing that could have been prevented. But overall the flavors were great and everything was plated beautifully. Dining room was neat, clean and decorated nicely. Cons: Nobody to greet and seat. Ambience was a little off. It was really brightly lit but there’s probably not much they can control being a part of the hotel lobby. Overall I was impressed with Chef Han and his staff. This could easily be a stand alone restaurant and they would knock it out of the park. I think being in a hotel does the food a bit of a disservice, they weren’t as busy as they should have been on a Saturday night with how good the food was and the level of service. We enjoyed our experience and would definitely come back.
