Best Contemporary American Restaurants in Bon Air

LeMaire was wonderful! My dining companion and I were attending an event at the Carpenter Center and running late for our reservation. We called ahead and were accommodated upon arrival. The restaurant advised by signage that they were working on improvements, and when we entered our dining area it was apparent. Once seated we were fine, thanks to our server Dave. We let him know we were trying to make a curtain and made sure our order was priority level. LeMaire and The Jefferson are a step back in time to fine dining and artistry of food presentation and artwork on the walls. Each room was as if you were sitting in someone's personal dining room. Our food and drinks were wonderful. We would love to return!

Music was a little loud, and we had to talk over it

We didn't eat off of the main menu, just the happy hour menu. The happy hour menu was disappointing. Oyster preparation was a little strange, smashburger was overcooked, and they were out of a couple items on the menu. Service was fantastic but they need to up the food game to compete with Ruth Chris's

Fantastic dinner. David Shannon rocks. Every morsel was over-the-top delicious and Kendel, our server, couldn't have been more polished, personable, and professional. The Vegan Orgy on Texas Beach was a complete flavor banger as promised, I would sell my soul for another bite of the Swank Bank — the whole thing is obscenely delicious, and the halibut was, of course, to die for. Thank you for a special birthday dinner.

Hidden gem: I was so happy to have found this enchanting local restaurant! The food is hands-down amazing: delicious and creative like you’d normally only find in a big city. Our waiter was charming, knowledgeable, AND so kind and patient (a couple of our party are very picky eaters), he really added positive points to the experience. There’s more seating than at first appears, so we were able to get in last minute on a Saturday evening. I LOVE that the menu changes often; more chances to try new flavors. We’ll definitely be back!
