The service and pacing of the meal make this place shine - it is so relaxing to dine here! The staff keep glasses full. The pacing of the meal is excellent - they leave plenty of time for each dish to shine. Tables are spaced out nicely as well, further contributing to a relaxed dining experience. We had a 5:45 res on a Saturday night and stayed for about 2 hours as a party of 2 ordering apps, drinks & entrees. For a ladies night out, we tried the bread, swordfish crudo, Caesar salad & swordfish Milanese. Each course surpassed our expectations. The caesar salad was HUGE and delicious - definitely something you could split as a large side for 2 or a small side for 4. Excellent wine and cocktail selection as well. They also had some mocktails on the menu that looked tasty. Absolutely thrilled! Would return for a celebrationMore infoLittle WaterPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Center City•4.6
- LLyndseyPhiladelphia County •6 reviews4.0Dined 3 days agoWe really enjoyed our first time at Scampi. We know they are new and working on a big transition from 6 diners to ~24. All of the food was excellent (minus one under-seasoned addition that wasn't on the menu), and the storytelling was a wonderful and lively addition to each course. However, the service was very slow. Their single server had to leave within minutes of the seating to go to the store to get something for the kitchen, and we were left without the ability to even ask for an ice bucket for our bottle of white wine. We proceeded to get very tipsy trying to drink it before it got warm, because the first course from the menu was not delivered until 40 minutes after we had been seated. From there the food was coursed pretty well, but again the one server was so busy cleaning up plates all the time that they never asked us if needed anything, how we were finding the food, etc. I hope that with time and more revenue they have the chance to smooth out the service, because when they do this place is gonna be rockin!!More infoScampiPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary Italian• Queen Village•4.9

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Roxanne in its new location, and let me tell you—it’s a revelation. While the original spot was already exceptional, this new chapter elevates the experience in every way. The tasting menu strikes the perfect balance of honoring beloved classics while introducing bold new favorites. Longtime fans will be thrilled to see signature dishes like the scallop and duck make a triumphant return, each as flawless as ever. But the new additions are equally dazzling—particularly the rigatoni, octopus, and scallop, each a masterclass in flavor and technique. And then there’s the cheeseburger. Magical doesn’t even begin to cover it. Imagine all your expectations of a burger, then multiply them by ten. The genius behind it all is Chef Alex - an original in every sense. Her creativity is matched only by her warmth, making the dining experience feel both elevated and personal. She’s not just redefining what great food is—she’s redefining how it feels to enjoy it. If you haven’t been to the new Roxanne, run, don’t walk. It’s a culinary triumph that honors its past while paving the way for an even brighter future.More infoRoxannePrice: Expensive• American• Queen Village•4.6
