Best Contemporary American Restaurants in Waterfront

Everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was very fresh and delicious. We came to celebrate a birthday and they brought out a baby cake without me even asking :) We will definitely be back!

The waitress was very nice, allowed us to take our time in ordering. She gave some great recommendations. We got the salmon and the mole enchiladas. Both were very delicious and good portion sizes. We also got dessert and I didn’t know this but they have their own pastry chef on site, so none of that premade stuff. We got a trifle that had blueberries, a custard and a very dense cake all layered. We ended the dinner with a walk around the botanical garden.

Amazing food. Very evident that great attention is paid to the ingredients paired together in every dish. Flavors & textures perfect. Very generous portions. The four of us loved every app & entre. Our server was very knowledgeable & enthusiastic about the menu. “Best Mac & cheese I’ve ever had” he said and he was right! Great service. Highly recommend.

Always excellent food, happy hour wine & bacon popcorn. Chopped salad, always a go to.

Dining at Cafe Monarch is similar to enjoying a wonderful performance. It reminds me of restaurants in Europe, where the waitstaff take their career seriously and see you, as the dining guest, as special, not just a number to be herded through as quickly as possible. During our 3 hour dining experience, we enjoyed the 8 course menu, which was excellent. My companion had the vegetarian, while I had the standard menu. Both were excellent with us truly enjoying 7/8 dishes. The waitstaff are extremely attentive but not disruptive and make the whole experience enjoyable. While it is very expensive for 8 small courses, we both left satisfied. Given that it was a 3 hour experience, I would consider it more than just "dinner" and just that, an experience. I will return again
