- JJamesVIPNew York City •16 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoCelebrating our anniversary and glad we chose Poached Pear. We ordered the octopus appetizer to share and it came with grilled shrimp. I was delicious. My wife ordered the halibut and I had the Ahi tuna with soba noodles. The portions were generous and the food was cooked to perfection. We both enjoyed our meals and actually left with some to take home. It is BYOB, so we enjoyed the wine we bought with our meals. We were full from our dinners, so just ordered cappuccino and a coffee. The waitress brought over a complimentary vanilla gelato with a candle for our anniversary. O Ive a nice experience.More infoPoached Pear BistroPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Point Pleasant Beach•4.9
- HHowardNew York City •23 reviews4.0Dined on Jan 2, 2025We were a party of four on a relatively quiet Thursday night. We were seated right away and our server stopped by soon after. We were brought water while we reviewed the menus and rolls soon after we ordered. I had duck confeit, my wife had a steak sandwich, the other couple had a pasta dish and burger. While the food was well prepared and had good flavor, it did not overwhelm any of us. My duck dish came with only a leg and thigh, which I feel was on the small side for the price. What did they do with the breast since there was no other duck dish on the menu. There were pieces of duck with cassolle, but it would not add up to the breast. While we will probably visit this restaurant again, I think the portions could be a little bigger.More infoMetropolitan CafePrice: Moderate• American• Freehold•4.6

However, the consistent attentive, professional, and very friendly staff are always reasons to return frequently. The manager, Hafid Elbroji, always makes us feel welcome and at home.
