- JJohnellChicago / Illinois •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoCelebrating Holiday Christmas Party for small group. Service and food was great, however a little disappointing having the 2 hour max time restriction. Could have stayed longer and enjoyed the amazing cocktails we were having.More infoThe Barrel ClubPrice: Moderate• American• Oak Lawn•4.7
- MMukundVIPChicago / Illinois •13 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoIs one might expect eating at the Trump is usually expensive. My only concern was that the food was good but not great. A $23 French toast should be brioche bread thick cut not standard bread standard slices. The bacon was cool if not cold. Which of course means it was made in bulk at an earlier time. We waited nearly 40 minutes for our food and regardless of how busy you are they should’ve made the food fresh. Especially when it was ordered à la cart and we paid à la cart prices. The view is priceless and the facility itself is beautiful. One can’t complain about seeing Lake Michigan from their window while eating breakfast. Coffee was excellent if a little weak. But that’s just a personal preference. Premium pricing is acceptable under the circumstances but not with the current quality of food. This was average food in a above average setting and left us wanting for something a little more exciting and interesting. I could understand if it was a buffet but to serve cool or relatively older food rather than freshly make it and preserve it to the table piping hot is not acceptable. Still a great experience.More infoTerrace 16Price: Expensive• Contemporary American• Near North•4.4
- MMargieSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoRestaurant Review: The Girl and The Goat The Girl and The Goat continues to solidify its reputation as one of Chicago’s must-visit dining destinations. With a focus on bold flavors and a playful approach to globally inspired dishes, this restaurant delivers a truly memorable experience. Highlights: •Bread and Pimento: This dish is deceptively simple but executed to perfection. The warm, freshly baked bread pairs beautifully with the creamy, smoky pimento spread. It’s the kind of starter that sets the tone for an indulgent meal, leaving you reaching for seconds (or thirds). •Empanadas: Bursting with flavor, these are a standout. The flaky, golden crust envelops a perfectly seasoned filling that balances savory richness with a touch of spice. Each bite feels like a small, delicious adventure. Drinks to Complement Your Meal: While The Girl and The Goat boasts a full bar menu offering craft cocktails, wines, and beers to suit any palate, the non-alcoholic options are equally impressive. The menu features thoughtfully crafted mocktails, infused with fresh herbs, seasonal fruits, and house-made syrups. Standouts include a refreshing citrus-and-mint blend and a rich hibiscus and ginger cooler, each perfectly balanced to enhance the meal without overpowering the flavors of the food. Dessert Note: •Chocolate and Peanut Butter Dessert: A decadent and satisfying way to end your meal. The harmony of creamy peanut butter and rich chocolate creates a nostalgic yet elevated experience. The textures—silky, crunchy, and smooth—make this dessert unforgettable. The Girl and The Goat’s ability to innovate while staying approachable is what makes it a perennial favorite. From small plates to desserts, and a drink menu that caters to every guest, every dish tells a story worth savoring.More infoGirl & the GoatPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• West Loop•4.8
- BBrendanChicago / Illinois •2 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoIncredible food - the beef tartare was zesty and delicious, beef short ribs had body but could still be cut by a butter knife, and the oat financier dessert was a delightful, lightly salty, perfectly balanced dessert - all incredible. The beef short ribs had some of the best umami flavor I've ever had thanks to the roasted puree (I think celery?) they put on the dish. Great drinks as well, try the Bella & Beatrice if you like gin at all.More infoBokaPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Lincoln Park•4.8
