- NNicolaMelbourne •2 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWe got a late booking for dinner. It’s a lovely restaurant with amazing food and a clam atmosphere. The oysters and eggplant dish were both exceptional. Great for a date night or special occasion.More infoFrogmore Creek Wine BarPrice: Moderate• Australian• Hobart City Center•4.5

Great locally Tasmanian choices on the menu combined with Glover Prize winning art as a backdrop, what could be better to showcase Tasmania to our overseas guest. Staff were highly professional also.More infoLandscape RestaurantPrice: Very Expensive• Australian• Hobart City Center•4.8

- VVeraTasmania •1 review5.0Dined on Dec 13, 2024I went to dinner at Leatherwood last Friday, Dec 13th, with a few friends. When I made the booking, I tried to find their menu, but to no avail. A little frustrating, but intriguing at the same time. In hindsight, it really didn't matter. What I was impressed with, and lookingforward to, was that they exclusively use Tasmanian produce. We were seated at a table directly infront of the open kitchen and servery. Our server, John, was lovely and very knowledgeable. It's the first time I have been to a Hilton Hotel, in any capacity, so I was entering with an open mind, but also expecting it to be a bit "grand". Don't get me wrong! It is lovely! But I was pleasantly surprised that it isn't pretentious and has a welcoming ambience. To me, eventhough it's a 5⭐️ hotel, it "feels Tasmanian". Now the food. (I wish I had taken a photo of the menu, so I can give accurate details of the dishes) I started with the scallops. It is 3 half-shells, each containing 3 (albeit small) scallops on cauliflower mash. I was very happy to see that they keep the roe attached. ✔️✔️ Others had oysters, and chicken liver paté. By all accounts everything was lovely! My main was Rack of Lamb done perfectly pink, with chimichurri and beetroot marinated shallots. Others had mussels, Wagyu steak, Market Fish (Blue Eye) and chicken. We shared sides of crispy roasted potatoes, fries, broccollini and Dutch carrots. All plates were (almost licked) clean! Everything was perfect! No-one could fault a thing. We were pleasantly satiated. Even the wines we had exuded warm murmurings. Then they brought us the dessert menu! So ofcourse we had to partake. Most of us had Leatherwood Crème Brûlée, with rhubarb jam and shortbread (don't be fooled by the 4 small hexagonal pieces on the plate. When the server tells you "don't eat them", DON'T. They may look like shortbread, but infact they are bees wax! [We didn't try to eat them]) One of our party had the Apple pie. All plates emptied once again! 10 out of 5 ⭐️❤More infoLeatherwoodPrice: Expensive• Australian• North Hobart•4.5
