The historic building at 16 Bay Rd. was home to the South Hamilton Post Office, and a place for residents to send and pick up letters. In response to the Great Depression, and a drop in the postage rate (from three cents to 2 cents), the Postmaster added more opportunities for residents to pick up their mail. First time visitor to The Autograph Tavern, we sat on the second level which had a bog bar area. Unfortunately there were a bunch of college football fans cheering for their team which made for a loud experience. It was the playoffs, so … but the restaurant is probably loud anyway, high wood ceilings with nothing to dampen the echoes. Service was attentive and pleasant. Decent selections of drinks and beers. Burrata appetizer was tasty. The mains all got thumbs up (I got fish tacos which were good but so overstuffed it was quite messy, less might have had better balance with the fish) and the Choc Cake dessert was good and large enough to share amongst 4 of us.

Our Bartender was excellent! The food was amazing! We got the steak and eggs and the breakfast wrap! Absolutely amazing!! Can’t wait to go back! But the star was the lemon ricotta donuts served warm with homemade jam!!!
