Harry's New-York Bar wurde am 26. November 1911 zu Thanksgiving in Paris in der Rue Daunou eröffnet. • 1924 veranstaltete Harry MacElhone die erste Straw Vote: eine Präsidentschaftswahl zum Spaß für alle in Paris lebenden Amerikaner. Einer dieser Reporter klebte tote Fliegen auf Zuckerstücke, von denen sich jeder eines ans Revers steckte. Harry's Bar ist der Trap Nr. 1, es gibt eine eigene Hymne sowie eine humorvolle Satzung. Bekannte I.B.F.-Mitglieder warenHemingway,Gershwin, Eisenhower, Roosevelt und Lancaster1933 kaufte Harry auf der Weltausstellung in Chicago eine Hot-Dog-Maschine und servierte somit die ersten Hot Dogs in ganz Frankreich.
