Bourbon salmon is fantastic ! Mashed potatoes and green beans made a perfect meal. Quiet and romantic atmosphere. Polite and attentive waitress. Go there and be spoiled.

We have a special place in our heart for the Fort. We have been going thetre for 54 years. The menu has been "streamlined", getting away from more difficult (and tasty) old world dishes. the wine list has been shrunk and it is primarily a beer joint now. Still, it is a vital part of Springfield andretains the spirit of hospitality in its DNA that always made us glad to enter its doors. Reliable "ratskeller" dishes like Schnitzels, Sauerbratenm Strudels won't disappoint.

We had a great time, and the food was amazing. The baked Brie was fantastic! Matt and Jeffery were attentive and personable. We look forward to going back to Johnny’s Tavern!

Fantastic evening celebrating XMAS with our daughter and her roommate from MHC! The staff could not have been more gracious in allowing us to decorate our mini Christmas tree on the table while waiting for the delicious food.
