i enjoy jokbal bokkeumbap at sikdang, but renovating until jan 2025. a compassionate friend found songho, a soft opening restaurant. it's in tenderloin, so my bud & i brave the neighborhood during a day trip. menu state jokbal bookeumbap, but restaurant only prepare it when accumulated sufficient jokbal shavings. so, my craving had me made a 2nd visit... this time an evening trip. the evening area is quite an eye-opening to appreciate you have a wonderful life. aye, still not serving the entree. i felt let down, but behaved with grace. i'm in support of 3 strikes. anyways, it's advantageous their other entrees well-compensates not fulfilling my craving. my companions shared in our enjoyable meals. at this writing, i had enjoyed 3 of their meat entrees, twice haemul pajeon. ps...i prepare homestyle korean, but hung up my family cook's hat 2024. i grew up eating out nationwide & worldwide. korean in bay area had been so-so. as a cook, my palate is ultra discerning. sungho impressed me by far, offering me my preference comfort foods. without a doubt, the chef loves cooking & proudly serve only the best of his ability to his customers. yes, there are culinary chefs or cooks, but not all embrace the art of cooking well. yea, i'll be back....
