Welcome to Copperwood Tavern, located in Shirlington Village. Our menu offers an array of scratch-made dishes and seasonal flavors along with a selection of handcrafted cocktails, 20 Virginia craft beers on tap, and an extensive selection of bourbons and Virginia wines. Copperwood exudes a cozy cabin-style vibe; great for a date night, business lunch, or weekend brunch with the family.
Join us weekdays for lunch, happy hour $2 oysters from 3-6, or dinner!
On weekends we offer brunch from 9am-4pm featuring classics such as chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and bananas foster French toast along with a selection of brunch libations.

    Genuinely just a slightly above average trendy restaurant. I didn’t understand the Parmesan crisp on top of the Caesar and I feel like steak should be defined as sirloin tips on the menu, maybe a little misleading. Fried green tomatoes were bland but the aioli that came along with it was fantastic. Everything was fresh and the value was okay. Service was great and attentive however.

    Every dish and side were perfectly prepared and served exactly as ordered (even for a no-salt member of our party). The server was highly attentive and professional throughout, while consistently welcoming. The only thing I’d watch is the overall cost per person; everything needs to be impeccable.

    In a very good location. Appetizers of short ribs and crab cakes were very good. Roasted oysters could have used more time in the oven. They came out cool in some of the shells even though topping was cooked and crispy. Trout with the spinach and beets was my favorite part of the meal. Ample frites were provided

    Service is always great! There is a Server he is so sweet! He is really nice, he is slim and pettite nice hair cut! But couldn’t remember his name, I wish I could. He makes this place just so special place to visit!

    We went for brunch. Lots of choices from breakfast-ish to lunch-ish. My husband ordered venison chili as an appetizer, which he enjoyed, and a traditional benedict which he also enjoyed but parts of it were oddly cold (he wasn't sure if it was the egg or the hollandaise). I got the bagel and lox with a side of grits - Grits were fabulous, light and fluffy, a bit of cheese flavor to make them interesting. The bagel was okay, but I found that having pickled onion on top instead of raw softened the onion's sharpness but added a different sharp note. Plus, I missed the crunch of the raw onions and the pickled onions had a bit too much liquid that dripped off. This of course is only my opinion. I'm eager to return to try other items, at other times of day. I definitely recommend trying Copperwood Tavern!
