    City Grocery, in a partnership with Vine Bottle Shop, hosts a wine dinner, this time focusing on Italian wines specifically. Dave Grenley of Vine (and former City Grocery staff) will join the restaurant in this event and has hand-picked the pairings for this five course dinner created by Chef JD.     Three of us dined at City Grocery last night and everything was delicious. We especially enjoyed the quail appetizer and the fried oyster salad which we shared. But the entrees were also delicious. Shrimp and grits, pork shoulder and beef falling off the bone. Ended with pumpkin tiramisu that disappeared quickly ! Highly recommend this restaurant! Great wine also.

    City Grocery always does it RIGHT. Absolutely an Oxford staple. They set the mood with festive music- today was Billy Joel. The new menu had dropped and did not disappoint! We started with the mushrooms- fried to perfection with pickled peppers and dipping sauce -AND the sourdough with pumpkin, very on season and delicious. We all got a variety of items from the salad and entrees sections and were all smiles.

    One of our favorite places! Delicious short ribs and gnocchi. Service is wonderful and the ambience is great. Highly recommend!

    Our reservations were honored, even though some of our party was a little late. Fine cocktails, and a good wine list. One in our party got the fried shrimp appetizer and gave it five stars. My duck breast was perfectly cooked. My wife got the garlic chicken dish, which was incredibly flavorful. It didn't hurt that the goal post procession came right by the front of the restaurant, and a spirited "Hotty Toddy" cheer erupted. One of the best restaurants in one of the coolest towns in the USA.

    They obviously overbooked We were supposed to sit at 9 and actually sat at 9:40. The shrimp and grits came out Luke warm. Service was good. Good tastes great. Pass on the banana bread dessert

    City Grocery is amazing. The food is delicious, the wine and espresso martini's are wonderful. The wait staff is the best. We took famillies here for thier first time to Oxford and they LOVED it. It is charming and you will have an amazing time and a delicious meal.
