Founded almost 25 years ago by power-couple Thierry & Patricia Moity (former owners of Patou in Charlotte, NC & Cafe de Bruxelles in NYC) with 50+ years of culinary expertise across Europe and America, Caprice Bistro continues to welcome Wilmington foodies with their exceptional cuisine. According to Chef Thierry, “I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant. We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating.” New owners Dustin Cook & Edie Senter - in addition to the long-time staff members like Chef Chris Nash & Cocktail Craftmaster Kat - intend to keep honoring that legacy at this downtown staple!

This is one of our favorite restaurants when we visit Wilmington NC. It has always been great. Good French menu. However last night was terrible, the food was prepared well but not at the level we are use to and the service was very sub par. We waited for 10 minutes for the waiter to show up to greet us. He took our water order and ran off before we could give him an cocktail order. Drink orders each time took 10 minutes. Our waiter would disappear for long periods of time leaving us to look for help from other staff. The nice couple next to us came in and ordered 15 minutes behind us and finished their appraiser before we saw our first course. We ordered the house daily special salad for our second course and were told after we had finally gotten and completed our first course that they were now out. It was 7:00 pm on a Thursday with a more than half empty room. They must of only made 3. I told the waiter that I was allergic to almonds and they removed them from my fish but when I ordered desert it came covered in slivered almonds. I had to send it back. I am hoping that it was just an off season really bad night and the restaurant we love so much will be back the next time we visit.

We visited with friends who were in town visiting from Maine and everything was very good. Our cocktails were were tastefully prepared, the service was attentive and the appetizer and main course was excellent.

A wonderful bistro with delicious food and drinks. The vibe is absolutely French bistro and the service impeccable. The frites are a standout but really everything we ordered was amazing.

The Caprice Bistro is always fantastic. Just me and my wife this time. Arrived around 5 pm on a Sunday and the bar area was packed. Our bartender/waitress was outstanding.

We love Caprice Bistro but it must have been an off night for the team. The service was very slow and while the appetizers were exceptional and our main course plates were hot to the touch, our main entrees were Luke warm at best with the pork chop more stewed the grilled and tough.
